Information and Computing Sciences

The Department of Information and Computing Sciences offers two Bachelor programmes: Computing Science and in Information Science (both in Dutch) and six international Master’s programs for graduates with a bachelor’s degree.
Also students with a Dutch 'HBO' certificate and students from abroad are most welcome at our Master's programs.
Staff and postgraduate research students of the Department conduct research within the Utrecht Institute for ICT Research 
in the above mentioned fields.

Computing and information sciences are fascinating fields of research, present everywhere but mostly hidden. Every day of the week new applications based on new insights and technologies are presented. Behind every new invention a vast amount of ICT is applied.

The department of Information and Computing Sciences actively takes part in this dynamic and fast evolving world. We are on the edge of research and educate enthusiastic students to become thorough professionals in these fields. The department of Information and Computing Sciences is one of the leading institutions in the Netherlands for research and teaching in the information and computing sciences. Our mission is to discover new principles for information and computing systems, to create new techniques for the design and use of intelligent systems in science and business, to educate first-rate students, and to enjoy the great things in our field.
