I have studied Marine Geosciences at Bremen University (Germany) and Physical Oceanography at Ocean University of China. Since February 2011. I am a PhD student at Utrecht University. My PhD project is in collaboration with the Alfred Wegener Institute for polar and marine research (AWI) in Bremerhaven, Germany, where I am going to carry out my experiments. Major aim of my project is to develop the δ13C of organic walled dinoflagellate cysts as a new and reliable proxy for pCO2. For this reason I am going to culture dinoflagellates under different environmental conditions and investigate how parameters as pCO2, nutrients, temperature, salinity etc. alter the δ13C-composition of their cells and cysts.
