Course 'PreScriptum, the thesis as a foundation for a research plan'
This course is open to all first-year PhD candidates. During this course, each participant completes specific assignments geared towards helping him or her to develop and formulate a thesis for his or her own research. The students receive individual written feedback from the lecturer.
Over the course of 5 weeks, the students learn not only about how to formulate a thesis, but also about the (academic) relevance of their research, the subquestions and how to limit the field of research.
Most of the course material can be completed either in a group or individually, at home. In the latter case, the material is presented in a telematic learning environment. Attendance is only required at two meetings to discuss general topics and exchange experiences with the other students. The course concludes with an individual assessment interview.
A lecturer from the Centrum voor Onderwijs en Leren will teach this course.
