The Master's programme Cognitive Artificial Intelligence (CAI) is a two-year Master of Science (MSc) programme. Students who follow this MSc programme will acquire skills in the broad field of artificial intelligence (AI) and a thorough knowledge of recent scientific results.
You will learn to model knowledge in an artificial system, with the aim of better understanding the human mind.
Modelling is one of the core activities of the programme, as are conceptual problems in the construction of theories and in the setting up of experiments.
The philosophical foundations of artificial intelligence constitute an important part of the programme, since knowledge of the conceptual framework within which questions about AI are being studied is essential to make progress in this field.
You will acquire extensive knowledge of the state of the art in one or more of the diverse subjects of AI. Depending on your main field of interest your study programme can be developed in either of two tracks: Logic and Intelligent Systems or Cognitive Modelling.
For research-oriented students this programme provides the opportunity to start a PhD research project, at a university in the Netherlands or abroad. A PhD research project will lead to a doctorate degree in any of the related topics.
