Organised jointly by the Research Institute for History and Culture (OGC) and the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), this Master's programme focuses on the visual arts and architectural heritage of the Low Countries, including in an international context. Particular attention will be paid to issues relating to art production and patronage, artist mobility, the international spread of style and repertoire, and iconology. Close ties with major museums and the Dutch National Agency for the Preservation of Monuments and Historic Buildings ensure the link between theory and practice.

This English-language programme prepares students for PhD studies in the Netherlands or abroad. Graduates will also be eligible for positions in, for instance, an art gallery or research institute requiring specific academic skills in art history at MA level.
