Humanities Science Shop

Does your organisation or company have a question that requires academic research? The Humanities Science Shop can help you. The Science Shop coordinates academic research projects commissioned by organisations and businesses and carried out by students under the supervision of academic experts. This gives the students the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice while providing your organisation with custom-tailored academic research at a relatively low cost.

The Science Shop uses its expertise in the humanities to provide a contribution to society at large. Your research project not only produces valuable information, it is also a learning experience for young researchers. We therefore actively acquire projects that offer added value for your organisation while providing our researchers with new challenges.

Science Shop clients

We perform research for government, cultural organisations, social organisations and small- to medium-sized businesses. We are experts in the fields of languages, communications, culture, history, art history, art policy, gender studies, theology, ethics and philosophy.

The research team

You as the client are directly involved in the research and are part of the research team. The other members of the team include:

  • one or more student researchers with expertise in the field
  • an academic expert to guarantee the project's academic quality
  • a Science Shop coordinator

The research projects generally last for about six months. At the start of the project, the parties agree to a rate and draw up a project budget.

Concrete results

Each of the Humanities Science Shop's projects produces concrete results in the form of, for example, a research report, an article, a policy memo, an anniversary publication, a website or an exhibition, depending on what you wish to achieve with the research.

In many cases, the researcher can present the results of the research in another form for specific audiences: oral presentations or articles, for example. This allows you to gain wider recognition for the project and its results.
