Research Institute ZENO

ZENO, the Utrecht Research Institute for Philosophy was founded in 1995 and aims at promoting the pursuit of philosophical scholarship by the Utrecht Departement of Philosophy.

ZENO’s research is divided into three research areas which each include several research programmes:

• History of Philosophy
• Theoretical Philosophy
• Practical Philosophy

Research by the Utrecht Ethics Institute and the Research Master’s programme Philosophy are also part of ZENO.

ZENO researchers participate in several national research schools:

• OIKOS
• LOGICA Research School
• NOSTER Research School Theology
• Ethiek Research School
• the Huizinga Instituut

ZENO organises lectures and there is an annual international conference.
