The Department of Media and Culture Studies is divided into the following thematic groups:
The Department of Media and Culture Studies is the faculty's home for all professors and lecturers for the Bachelor's programmes Theatre, Film and Television Studies, Communication and Information Studies and Musicology. The department also provides the Master's programmes in Film and Television Studies, Theatre Studies, New Media and Digital Culture, Art Policy and Management and the English language study programmes Gender and Ethnicity and Comparative Women's Studies in Culture and Politics.
The department's research concentrates on the performance character of media and the performing arts from three different perspectives: heritage, transmediality and media and culture in daily life.
The department is located on Muntstraat 2A in the historic centre of Utrecht.
