Interfaces Between the Sciences and the Humanities
Diversity of genealogies
Within this theme the CfH focuses on the fundamental concepts of the Humanities, past, present and future. In so doing, firstly, the CfH critically deals with the theme of the diversity of genealogies within the Humanities, which raises the issue of the current canonisation process of the field.
Technology & sustainability
Secondly, the focus engenders the issue of the interaction between historical and contemporary visualisation techniques in the history and philosophy of science (in co-operation with the Descartes Centre) and, thirdly, the issue of science and sustainability.
Cutting-edge Humanities
The CfH investigates the consequences of the scientific transformations for the Humanities in the 21st century. Special attention is given to the development of new cutting-edge perspectives such as: the environmental humanities, the digital humanities; cognition and the neural sciences and the question of the posthuman.
