New journal ‘Pessoa Plural’
‘Pessoa Plural’ is a new international peer-reviewed scholarly journal, dedicated to studies of the Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa (1888-1935). It is published jointly by the Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies at Brown University, Portuguese Studies at Utrecht University, and the Department of Humanities and Literature of the University of the Andes.
Pessoa Plural is the first journal to be dedicated to studies of Fernando Pessoa, Portugal's most important poet of the 20th century, whose international acclaim keeps on growing. The journal publishes essays, documents, and commissioned book reviews. All submitted articles are initially screened by the editors. If judged pertinent to the journal, then they are submitted to a process of double-blind review. The editors’ aim is to publish the best scholarship and criticism on Fernando Pessoa, regardless of theoretical methodological or ideological perspective.
The new journal was officially launched on 14 June 2012 at the Casa Pessoa in Lisbon. The editors, Onésimo Almeida (Brown), Paulo de Medeiros (Utrecht) and Jerónimo Pizarro (Los Andes / NIAS), invite all interested to read the first issue and eventually contribute to the journal.
