Enter the YEAR2012 competition and travel to Athens 

YEAR2012 is a competition for final year undergraduates and postgraduates working on transport research (road, rail and waterborne). The thirty finalists get a chance to present their research at the TRA2012 conference in Athens.

All aspects of surface transport

The scope of the competition includes all aspects of surface transport: 

  • Governance of the transport system
  • Transport, mobility and infrastructure
  • Safety and security
  • Energy, environment and resources
  • Design and production (vehicles, vessels and infrastructure)
  • Complementarities of transport modes

Thirty finalists will be selected from across Europe and will be funded to travel to the TRA2012 conference in Athens (April 2012). There they will exhibit their research at the conference for 1,500 delegates to see. A winner will be shortlisted in each of the 6 categories. 

How to participate

To enter, register on the website, log on and upload a 300-500 word abstract (with a few illustrations). Make sure you do so before the deadline: October 15th 2011.
