The EU has granted a subsidy to the project ‘Enhancing children's oral language skills across Europe and beyond’. Professor Ellen Gerrits participates in the project's steering group. Oral language is critical to children's development. Most children acquire such skills effortlessly but a sizeable proportion, those with language impairment (LI), do not.
This year, the Dies ceremony is themed Teaching. The Anniversary Address entitled 'Teaching as conversation', will be delivered by Professor Frits van Oostrom on March 26th. In addition to the Anniversary Address, award ceremonies will take place for the honorary doctorates, the Lecturer of the Year Award and the Best Young Teaching Talent Award.
