Dr Katell Lavéant (Department of Languages, Literature and Communication; French Literature) will start a research seminar in 2016, in collaboration with the Université de Grenoble, about the networks and cultural practices of orators and chambers of rhetoric in early modern France and the Burgundian Low Countries. Lavéant has received a grant from the Van Gogh Programme.

The Van Gogh programme is funded by the Netherlands and France in order to stimulate exchange between French and Dutch researchers. In this research seminar, Lavéant collaborates with Prof. Estelle Doudet of the Université de Grenoble. PhD candidates will also be involved in the seminar.
