Accommodation

Housing is scarce in Utrecht. For our international students, Utrecht University has an agreement with SSH Short Stay. Housing is not guaranteed, but if you apply in time you have a good chance getting accommodation.

Bring Your Own Device

If you are taking any computer-based classes, please bear in mind that you might be expected to bring your own laptop. As a UU student, you'll have access to practically all study software via your own laptop, free of charge, wherever you are.

Visa, residence permit and city registration

Some students will need a visa and/or residence permit. If so, we will inform you and guide you through the process, after you have been accepted.
All students need to register with the city where you live. We will help you do this after your arrival in The Netherlands.

If you study in The Netherlands you are required to have health insurance.

Student card

Every registered exchange student receives a personal Utrecht University student card. You need this card to take exams and to use the library.
