Information for Students

Study choice

  • You are not really interested in the focus of your degree course.
  • You find it hard to imagine what your life will be like after graduation.
    What options are available?
  • Your results are disappointing.

What can you do if you have doubts about your choice of study?

If you begin to have doubts, you should take it seriously. Try to pinpoint the source of these doubts. Is the study programme different from what you expected? Is it too difficult or too easy? Have your interests changed? Do you feel ill at ease with your fellow students? Perhaps the teaching methods simply don't suit you? Talk to your tutor, the study advisor or schedule an appointment at the Centre for Study Choice

Centre for Study Choice

For students of Utrecht University (and HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht), the Centre for Study Choice offers specialist support. You can schedule an appointment online for a brief intake meeting. During the meeting, you can examine what you need to get motivated again and whether that is an option for your current degree programme. You can also investigate alternatives.

If you have already decided to drop out of your degree programme, read more about terminating your enrolment.
