Application, admission and enrolment process
The process of student application, admission and enrolment is a chain in which all relevant Utrecht University staff work together. This approach ensures that Utrecht University students are able to enrol quickly and efficiently prior to the prevailing deadlines, providing the students with a good level of service in the process.
The Director of the Academic Affairs Office is the owner of the application, admission and enrolment process.
Information for prospective, new and current students
Information is made available to prospective, new and current students in a variety of ways. For further information, see prospective Bachelor's programme students (Dutch), prospective Master's programme students, current students and international students.
'Studielink' and 'UU aanmelden' systems
The university application system UU aanmelden is used only for privately financed Master’s programmes and the Erasmus Mundus programme. The Studielink system is used for all programmes, except for privately financed Master’s programmes. The university application system UU aanmelden is used for privately financed Master’s programmes.

Communication
Continuous, effective communication is vital to ensure the smooth operation of the application, admission and enrolment process. The joint aim of the faculty divisions involved, the Academic Affairs Office and the Central Student Administration (Centrale Studentenadministratie) is to operate as a unified organisation during the student enrolment process and to keep each other informed as effectively as possible.
Each year, the Executive Board sends out letters welcoming new Bachelor’s students. Below is an overview of the various letters (in both English and Dutch) for prospective Bachelor’s students:
