Utrecht University offers a large number of courses taught in English at both the Bachelor level and Master level. Information about courses open for Exchange and Visiting students can be found per faculty. You can also find contact information for all the faculties on the links below.
Utrecht University has seven faculties that offer a broad spectrum of academic disciplines.
Besides the seven faculties Utrecht University has two honours colleges:
The academic year
The academic year at Utrecht University is divided into 2 semesters and each semester is divided into 2 blocks/periods/terms. This means that block 1 and 2 are in the 1st semester and block 3 and 4 are in the 2nd semester. Students need to select at least 2 courses per block.
All lectures and examinations (except re-takes) take place within these periods. Holidays may differ slightly per faculty. Exchange students taking courses at different faculties should take this into account. Please visit the website of your Utrecht faculty for further details about time slots and course schedules.
Please note that University College Utrecht has a different academic calendar. For this reason it is not possible to combine courses at UCU with courses at other faculties.
