The behaviour, organisation and management of companies in an international economic context is the focus of attention in the International and Economics and Business Master’s programme.
The International Economics and Business Master’s programme was founded on the premise that the internal organisation of companies can only be studied effectively in the context of the international environment. The behaviour of companies, as demonstrated by direct foreign investment and international competition, co-determines the international environment, while developments in that environment, such as economic and financial liberalisation and integration, shape the strategic behaviour and organisation of companies. The preference for this integrated approach stems from the Utrecht School of Economics’ hallmark of stressing the link between economics and business studies.
