Advice and assistance for (start-up) entrepreneurs

UtrechtInc. advises and assists (start-up) entrepreneurs within and outside the University in starting their own enterprises and informs them of business accommodation options and start-up funding.

The novice entrepreneurs that UtrechtInc. assists are mostly (recent) graduates and staff of Hogeschool Utrecht, Utrecht University and UMC Utrecht but also innovative first-timers from the entire Utrecht region. UtrechtInc is a partnership of Hogeschool Utrecht, UMC Utrecht, Rabobank Utrecht, the Municipality of Utrecht and the Province of Utrecht. Utrecht Inc. is part of Utrecht Science Park.

Utrecht Science Park

Utrecht University, UMC Utrecht, Hogeschool Utrecht, the Province of Utrecht and the Municipality of Utrecht have been the driving forces in the establishment of Utrecht Science Park (USP, only in Dutch). Utrecht Science Park in De Uithof is becoming an internationally leading hub for higher education, academic research, patient care and knowledge-intensive business activity and enterprise.

Utrecht Science Park houses a number of businesses, mostly in the field of Life Sciences. The companies based at USP are established and start-up businesses with a strong focus on the themes of Life Sciences and Sustainability. Danone, one of the world’s most prominent corporations in the food industry, recently announced that in 2012 it would be establishing a new innovation centre for specialised foods at Utrecht Science Park. The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) will be moving to Utrecht Science Park in 2016 (RIVM news release, only in Dutch).
