Utrecht University Foundation/Alumni Office

The Utrecht University Foundation was established over 125 years ago by alumni of Utrecht University. Its mission was, and still is, to promote the University’s welfare and best interests. In 1999, the University Foundation also became the University’s alumni organisation, which seeks to connect alumni to the University and to each other. The University Foundation also supports the student experience.

Our key areas of activity:

Students

The University Foundation supports the student experience by funding activities by and for students. The Foundation provides the financial backing needed to ensure that activities can go ahead.

Alumni

The University Foundation is the University’s alumni organisation. The Foundations runs events and activities for graduates of Utrecht University.

Special chairs

The University Foundation establishes special chairs to enable research in topical and societally relevant areas. These chairs greatly enrich the University’s education and research endeavours. 

Fundraising and relations with donors

The University Foundation sees fundraising and funds management as one of its key responsibilities. In this way, we contribute to the mission of Utrecht University.
