Ethology & Welfare in the Master track Behavioural Neuroscience
Animal Welfare and Applied Ethology
Students with special interest in animal welfare and applied ethology have the possibility to study these subjects in the Master track Behavioural Neuroscience. The track offers a special 4-week course on Ethology and Animal Welfare 6 ECTS and possibilities for relevant internships. The track can be focussed to animals welfare and applies ethology only, but a combination with courses and internships in behavioural biology and neuroscience is also feasable, and offers a wide array of possibilities.

- ethological and (neuro) physiological concepts
- fundamental research on emotion and cognition
Entrance requirements
A BSc degree in(Bio)medical or Life Sciences or an equivalent and BSc-level knowledge of behavioural biology and neuroscience.
Prospects
Graduates may work as an expert in behavioural research, biomedical labs, industry, animal welfare organizations, behavioural therapy clinics or governmental institutions.
Organization
The 2-year MSc track
Behavioural Neuroscience (co-ordinator: dr.
Richard van Wezel ), is one of the four tracks of the prestige Master program
Neuroscience and Cognition.
The Ethology & Welfare part of the track is organized by the
division of Ethology & Welfare, Department of Animals, Science & Society, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University.
