3R-Symposium, Utrecht, 5-6 Feb. 2009

Scientic Symposium:

Anniversaries are always special and the 3R symposium, celebrating 25 years division of Laboratory Animal Science, 15 years Netherlands Centre Alternatives to animal use (NCA) and 5 years department of Animals in Science and Society was another unique experience.
In a wonderful atmosphere, 250 guests from all over the world enjoyed both inspired and inspiring presentations by international recognised speakers.
Apart from looking back at 3R-developments that have been made during the last decades, there was a strong focus on the future of animal experimentation.
In a plenary discussion, the conclusions from sometimes intense debates in the various workshops were combined and worked out into a vision on future 3R developments.
