UCU students successful in Oxford United Nations simulation
The delegation of Utrecht University Model United Nations (UUMUN), in which four UCU students (Ivar van Hasselt, Stefan Hut, Frank Komrij and Nilofar Sarwar) participating, was very successful at the MUN conference in Oxford. In total, the delegation won 4 prizes which made it one of the best delegations present and certainly the most successful delegation from the Netherlands. One prize was won by UCU student Nilofar Sarwar. She received an honorable mention for her constructive contribution as Tanzania in the Special Political and Decolonization committee.
After this successful participation in Oxford, the UUMUN delegation is preparing for the Harvard MUN conference in February. Through an intensive training program focused on improving diplomatic skills such as debating, lobbying and resolution writing, the delegation is very motivated to continue its success in Harvard.
