ECHO Award
ECHO, the Expertise Centre for Higher Education Diversity, annually grants the ECHO Award to a (non-western) ethnic minority student who stands out for excellent results, pioneering capacities and active social engagement.
Winner of 2007 ECHO Award
Kurdish student at University College Utrecht, Seren Dalkiran, won the 2007 ECHO Award, which was presented to her by Ronald Plasterk, Minister for Education, Culture and Science. The Award comprised a summer course at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
