President of Utrecht University Yvonne van Rooy appointed as new president of Dutch Hospitals Association
Today, Yvonne van Rooy, LLM, has been appointed President of the NVZ Dutch Hospitals Association with effect from December 2012. After nine years, Yvonne Van Rooy will leave Utrecht University. The academic ceremony marking the start of the new academic year on Monday 3 September will also be a tribute to the departing President of Utrecht University.

The President of the Supervisory Board of Utrecht University, Professor Emmo Meijer, has expressed his great appreciation of her commitment to the university over many years: ‘Yvonne van Rooy has contributed significantly to the linking of social spearheads with the university, to creating a culture of ambition and excellence within the university’s education and to the strong development of the Utrecht Science Park’. In addition to Yvonne van Rooy, the Executive Board of Utrecht University consists of Rector Magnificus Bert van der Zwaan and Professor Hans Amman. Van der Zwaan about the president: ‘Yvonne van Rooy has helped Utrecht University to perpetuate its number 1 position in international rankings.’
Yvonne van Rooy
Yvonne van Rooy, LLM (1951) has been the President of the Executive Board of Utrecht University since 1 February 2004. Prior to that, she was, among other things, State Secretary of Economic Affairs and President of the Executive Board of Tilburg University. Yvonne van Rooy holds various additional civic offices and serves as Vice President of the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU). She has been a member of the Supervisory Board of ING since May 2012.
